Obituary

Royce Isaac Nichols, age 80, of Mooresville passed away peacefully on January 20, 2020 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He retired from Ingersoll Rand, he is a military veteran having served in the National Guard, served as a deacon at Mt. Mourne Church of God for 50 years. Preceded in death by his parents, Chow and Pearl Duncan Nichols; brother, Thomas, Larry, and Charles Nichols; sisters, Irene Hamby and Cathy Nichols. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Bennett Nichols; children, Alan Nichols Sr. Rose (Russ) Nichols Rice, Dale (Judy) Nichols, Johnny Nichols, Roger (Angie) Nichols Sr., Victoria Nichols (Mike Shumake); brother, Bobby Nichols; 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 11 am Thursday January 23, 2020 at Mt Mourne Church of God. A funeral service will follow at 12 pm in the Chapel with Pastor Donald Caldwell and Rev. Lawrence Ownbey officiating. A meal will be provided immediately after the service. Please continue to remember the family in prayer. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund at Mt. Mourne Church of God. A private interment will be held at the cemetery

I am so sorry for your loss. Royce was a wonderful man of God. He loved his family, his friends but most of all he loved God. He will truely be missed. I am praying for all of his family. I pray that you find comfort in that he is no longer suffering but he is safe in the arms of Jesus. Love you all. Martha Kerley
